Healthcare – It’s Broken, We Need To Fix It

Just watched the new film “Escape Fire.” It was right on target with the major problems in our healthcare system.

I was thinking the other day of my doctors’ care in the past, and how many doctors today don’t understand the concept of real healthcare. I dread going to see a doctor more than taking my car to a mechanic. These professionals are practicing with my mortal life.

Healthcare has become a monstrous industry of legal drug pushing and unnecessary procedures. Thankfully there are those in this industry working to change that. This film gives them a platform to communicate and demonstrate some of their solutions.

Although there were some parts I would have edited out, I’m ecstatic someone produced this seriously needed film.

Buying Raw Milk In Texas

This has been very difficult. I spent months looking for a supplier. They are far and in-between. Finally I found a producer (small family farm) whose facility was clean and they had healthy cows. What was the glitch? I had to drive two hours round trip every week to get our raw milk. (more…)

If I were a time of day, I’d be the sunset

If I were a sea animal, I’d be a dolphin

If I were a direction, I’d be east

If I were a piece of furniture, I’d be an old comfy reading chair

If I were a liquid, I’d be organic decaf coffee with heavy raw cream

If I were a gemstone, I’d be pearl

If I were a tree, I’d be a loblolly pine (more…)

A Christmas Story

Forgotten

by Sarah Elisabeth

God has forgotten me.

This revelation sought me out gradually. It began the day I could no longer turn over in bed.

“Good morning, Ms. Ruth. How are we feeling today?”

I liked when my nurse, Karen, patted my shoulder. Her gentle touch soothed when she lifted or bathed me. She recognized me as a person. I once could see her smile, but I’ve lost that. I can no longer see past the foot of my bed. Now Karen has vanished from my life, replaced by a nurse who doesn’t see me. (more…)
